Decisions, decisions....

Acquired half a yard of black Chinese silk rayon "brocade" which should look good with the dark rabbit fur I picked up at an event a couple years ago and never remembered to make into a hood lining.
So, how many of you who said Yes to the "Mongolian" hat concept were thinking this? You know, the hat 98% of the population of the Kingdom of the West puts on if the evening temperature dips below 60 degrees only theirs are wool and therefore Viking?

'Cause I'm actually thinking I want something closer to this, which will (a) look better with rabbit anyway, (b) allow me to embrace the Dorkitude Of The Hat and (c) keep the back of my neck warm.
Then there's the fact that
bovil sent me to http://www.dpreview.com/ so I could do the homework for when I trade up from my Fujifilm Finepix 3800. My mom is still using the old autofocus 35mm Fujifilm camera I bought in the 1980s, so I did look at a number of Fujifilm cameras. I want something that performs better in low light than the 3800, is more forgiving of hand-shake and is more compact. The 3800 gets the job done, but it's a bit bulky. And Fujifilm had a winner, the F100fd - but it's more than I originally wanted to spend. The next step - finding a store that has them so I can play around with a floor model.

Date: 2008-12-23 04:24 am (UTC)I am also looking for a new camera - but I have to pretty much limit it to OfficeMax, and wait until the new year. I don't want to be camera-less for the holiday, so I can't file a 'damage claim' for the one I got last year (cracked the LCD screen during the weekend of mostly hell). Once I file the claim, they should be sending the replacement gift card fairly quickly. I hope so, anyway.
But I liked the Fujifilm FinePix I had - but your link was helpful - and many of their choices are supposedly available from OfficeMax, so it's a good thing :)
