As a matter of fact, it IS taped to the cheap $19 IKEA coffee table.  As a matter of fact, freehand painting on a corrugated surface sucks.

I like! Did you use a little gold on the flowers? They look sparkley in the picture.

Yes. It looked too flat so I grabbed my gold paint pen and added some outlines to give it a little more oomph.

Yeah, after I posted the question, I looked at the hiogi thread on Tousando and saw that you had already answered it...
btw, your fan research got me wondering, "Why gampi paper for fans?" Apparently there are three factors that make it ideal: 1. It is more durable when repeatedly folded, 2. It has an inherent natural sizing, so it's easier to paint on, and 3. The bugs don't like to eat it. Nifty, yes?
