Ok, I thought that one was Ju-on. I've seen both Ju-on and Ju-on 2, I thought they were well done. The Grudge? Not so much...

There is a grand tradition of Japanese ghost stories involving the spirits of wronged women. If you can find "Kwaidan" and "Ugetsu" in the foreign film section of wherever you rent movies and don't mind subtitles, they are both terrific.

I will definitely look them up. I just picked up Kagamusha and Rashoman today, which will go nicely with my other Kurosawa movies.

I love Kurosawa movies and Sansho the bailiff. I really really love Chinese cinema. I was surpised when I first started watching Chinese cinema that almost everyone dies in the end, but now I am used to it...

"Ugetsu" is directed by the same man who did "Sansho." It may be my favorite Japanese film.
