What did I do?
May. 2nd, 2007 03:30 pm1. I agreed to give someone a ride to Crown last week even though she gets out of work a full hour later than I do, thus assuring we have to make the run to Mendocino at the worst part of rush hour. Monday night she told me she may have to work late Friday because of a conference.
2. Two foremen screw up five new-hire packages between them, thus assuring that I spend this morning in a two-hour deep hole on payroll processing because of THEIR stupidity. I never got my AM break to go for a walk.
3. The fax machine and printer next to it both decide they need toner at the exact same time.
4. My partner had to leave work early because of a medical appointment so I ended up taking my break at my desk, which means no PM walk.
5. We have visitors from the Glendale office coming in tomorrow, and Oh, could you pick up breakfast for them? I have a feeling I can go whistle for reimbursement on it.
6. I spent two hours either on the phone or running around virtual chat with McAfee trying to resolve the fact that I wanted one antivirus product and ended up with another. After being bounced from Customer Service to Tech Support and back to Customer Service it still has not been resolved and I'm waiting for an email back from them about the situation.
7. People took a jackhammer to my virtual Zen garden. I tried to do something nice and they screwed it up and they don't understand why I'm upset.

Date: 2007-05-03 05:06 am (UTC)I'm really sorry that people are ijits - especially on lists, and especially when they try to 'read' things into the reasons behind things.
As a way to continue your Random Acts of Beauty - why not post them here? You have friends who would LOVE to see them (a brightener to one's day) and you could control who posts, if you want. I'm pretty sure your friends would respect your wish to contemplate them in silence w/o you restricting commentary.
And as for not letting the Zen door hit you on the way out - it's THEY who have closed the door to beauty and Zen for others, not you.
It just reminds me of a 'truism' I heard at some point: East Question, West Answer. Heh - and in the Kingdom of the West, ALL must answer, ad nauseum, it seems. Heh, and it's star child, Caid, seems to take it even farther, sometimes.
Hang in there.
