Tentative menu for the Japanese picnic. Lord only knows how many people will even want to eat it so I have no idea how much to make.

Edamame (boiled and salted soybeans in the pod)
Onigiri (rice balls) with chicken teryaki. Maybe also with umeboshi (pickled plum).
Pickles - variety to be determined based on what looks good at the market.
Wakame (seaweed salad)?
Fresh melon.
Mochi (rice cakes).
Tea
Sake.
(Note to self, pick up a package of disposable chopsticks!)

I think it sounds delicious and cannot wait!!! And the disposable sticks are an excellent idea.

I am such a dork...I wish cucumber salad was period. Its my fave!
