Another wasted Sunday?

Cold. Sniffly. Zoned out on the sofa a lot.
On the other hand, I was awake enough to enjoy "Rome" when it came on. God, I love this series.
Then I stumbled upon the second half of a Great Performances airing of "The Magic Flute." It's only my favorite opera of all time. I recognize absolutely none of the cast. Doesn't matter. It's in English instead of the German I grew up with on the scratchy LP with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf as the Koenigen der Nacht. No big. The production is directed by Julie Taymor and it's all stylized costumes and abstract sets. And puppets! Friggin' awesome, I need to see the first hour now.

Must run back downstairs. Part II of "Jane Eyre" is on in a few. Ruth Wilson is a believable Jane, Toby Stevens is the right bastard that Rochester needs to be. Eilis and I were talking about it the other night. "Bed, crackers." "Fistfight," I added. Yeah, I'd wrassle him....

Date: 2007-01-30 04:00 am (UTC)My money's on Atia. I don't think she's done for just yet. The historical Atia didn't die until after Octavian became consul and the fighting hasn't quite started yet.

Nor with the way Kerry Condon's gowns almost but not quite show what's there. Not that we didn't see her in all her glory in the first season, but I LIKE diphanous gowns...

I was figuring it wouldn't be her time anyway because of the way they ended the episode. If they were gonna kill her, they'd have done it right then.
I fear for the cute cook, though, who'll probably end up either eating the leftovers and buying it, or will be blamed for it.
