I just realized that the Pride parade is this weekend and my sister, brother-in-law and the boys (5 and 9 respectively) coming into SFO Friday night - and their hotel is over near Moscone Center, right off the parade route. An email with a suggestion that I meet them at the Marriott EARLY on Saturday has been fired off, so we can avoid the crowds and endangerment to Mr. Inappropriate. My mom came up with that one: Alex is famed for foot-in-mouth commentary.

I did instruct them to consult a guide book or two before coming out. They know better what sort of things they'd like to do and what the boys likes and limits are.

We'll figure it out and I AM looking forward to seeing them all.

Inappropriate will put him in good company if they get caught in the crowds. :) We are talking about the event where, "Mommy, why does that man have peacock feathers stuck in his butt?" was a valid question.

Peacock feathers, boots and a smile. That's it. We *told* her not to bring the 5 year old...

For logistics, I recommend public transit. Muni is a good thing.

I'll call Mir tonight and see what we can come up with in terms of a sane solution. Maybe Sunday would be a good day to daytrip someplace outside the city.

Just stay away from Market St, Civic Center and the Castro.

It might be a great day for the CA Academy of Science, if they like that sort of thing. Or the Exploratorium. Is the Bay Model in Sausalito still open for visitors?

Or a good day to visit Muir Woods, or Calistoga, etc. if they are willing to go so far.

We can suggest a few wineries in the Russian River/Dry Creek area, if you like.

If they have a rental car the Lawrence Hall of Science is a great option for that age.

Ooh. My kid and I may need to take a road trip sometime soon for that one.
