That's right, just caught Red and Blue on cable while waiting for the novocaine to wear off from this afternoon's scaling and root planing session.I'm STARVING right now and afraid to eat yet because I'm afraid I'll bite down on the inside of my cheek or something. Another half hour and I should be OK. I think.

Dr. H's hygienist, Lara, is a rockstar too. Did a good job with a topical anesthetic so I never even felt the needle, then spent about an hour doing infrastructure maintenance on the right side of my mouth and noticed that my gums look way better already after two weeks and only one quadrant deep cleaned the last time. I told her I loved the toothbrush they gave me at the last visit, so she gave me another one which promptly went into my travel toiletry kit when I came home.

Hunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yosemite planning continues. If current weather reports are to be believed, it should be gorgeous, if on the warm side during the day, with comfortable sleeping weather overnight. We've been emailing internet descriptions of various day hikes back and forth trying to decide which we'd like to do. I took a look at the descriptions of the hike up Half Dome and decided I don't need to become a statistic. No. Just - no.

I don't know if it's still there...

But there used to be a natural soda spring in the middle of Tuolomne Meadows.

Take a pressure-tight bottle to collect some, and we can make Yosemite Campari&Sodas when you get back ;-)

I had forgotten how far into the park Tuolomne Meadows was.
I *did* remember that the hike to the springs was not that long from the Tuolomne Meadows store.

You have a peculiar idea of "fun," Monkey Boy.

"Hellboy 2" was on last night. I don't do comic books, but I actually enjoyed both the Hellboy movies. (For that matter, the Spiderman films and the recent Hulk with Edward Norton were quite entertaining.) The director was responsible for "Pan's Labyrinth" and both HB 1 and 2 have action, humor and really inventive visual style.

Got to wonder if Doug Jones (the blue amphibious guy) couldn't hear the playback very well in full make-up. Despite being rather flat, he seems to have a pleasant voice.

Take pictures of Half Dome. Get postcards of Half Dome. Absolutely no reason to go up there cause the view is much nicer down on the ground where it's SAFE.

I loved the clip. So *wrong*.
