Smithsonian has a photo contest. Entry deadline is December 1. 

I wonder if I have anything good. I mean REALLY good. Look at what won last year here.

I think I need to shuffle through my pictures too. I worry that my basic sharpen and color adjusting will disqualify me. I am not sure I have anything as good as last year's pictures. I think we should both enter even if we don't think the pics are good enough! What is the worst that can happen? :)

"Cropped photos are eligible in all categories...." (Oh, good. I've been known to crank the megapixel count and crop the snot out of something since I can't increase the zoom on my camera.)

"....We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos, except for those entered in the Altered Images category. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable for all five categories...." You may be OK.

I think my biggest problem is being objective (read ruthless) enough to pick some good 'uns.
