A for Alliteration

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." - V in "V for Vendetta"
Can you imagine them trying to get Keanu Reeves to recite that?
V for Vendetta is not going to knock Master and Commander and Laurence of Arabia out of their niches as my favorites, but it has definitely bumped the worthy Hunt For Red October down to the number four slot. Bravo Messrs. Wachowski. Or should that be Bra Vo?
Besides, it has Julie London's "Cry Me A River."

Date: 2007-05-28 12:23 am (UTC)I consider that Ms. Portman has done due penance and redeemed herself for three movies' worth of "Oh, Ani! You're breaking my heart, Ani!" I knew she had acting chops in "The Professional." It's nice to see her using her powers for good again.
And Hugo Weaving is bloody brilliant. You can't even see his eyes. It's all got to be voice and body and he makes it work.
"1812 Overture" anyone?
