I need to smack [livejournal.com profile] reynardine 's knuckles because when she mentioned an indie film called "Driving Lessons," she talked about Rupert Grint and Julie Walters, but did NOT mention the music featured in two scenes in the film. I patiently waited for the credits to scroll and found out the name of the band: Salsa Celtica.

That's right. Salsa Celtica....

Very nice. I seem to vaguely remember seeing someone post about them before.

I wasn't planning on buying any music until after my trip, but damn--I think I just changed my mind. These guys rock.

You know, I didn't even notice them. I like Celtic music, but I never much cared for salsa. But I'm glad you enjoyed the movie!

Ave Maria purisima, I love this! Salsa is a blend of Spanish/Cuban and African rhythms.

There was Celtic music in northern Spain...the Celtiberians were there, after all. For *traditional* Celtiberian music, check out the band Milladoiro.

Salsa Celtica's mix of lovely sounds could only have occurred in modern times, but I'm glad it did.

You warmed this Cuban-American's heart, lady. Thanks!

I know - part of the brain cries "This should not work!" while the other part starts reciting the origins of Celtic culture.
