My second floor neighbor and I access our apartments by means of a side door and staircase to the second floor of this rambling old house. We keep the window cracked 365 days a year to prevent condensation and mold. As a result, the hallway tends to become home to random moths attracted by the security light as well as a thriving Daddy Longlegs colony. Personally, I don't much mind, but Melissa gets ookied out by our smaller neighbors. Unfortunately, she also gets ookied out by having to take a broom to the insect debris and cobwebs.

I looked around this afternoon and decided it was time to de-ookie the hallway again. It looks better, the dead moths are gone, but I kind of feel bad for Clan Longlegs. I saw one go scuttling for the window followed by a quite visible gaggle of nymphs. On the other hand, they'll be back soon enough.
