Standing collar is attached.
Piping has been applied up the front edges and around the collar.
Body is hemmed.
New sleeves have been re-cut and trimmed with black ribbon.

To do - and yes, it's coming to March Crown so I can stitch on it a bit tomorrow:
Line collar and piped jacket edges with linen  so raw edges won't make the wearer uncomfortable. (Jacket will be otherwise unlined.)
Sew up sleeve seams.
Hem sleeve cuffs.
Attach sleeves to armscyes.

Sew on buttons.
Cut and sew buttonholes.

Photo comes from an article on Confederate issue uniform jackets at

My epaulets are completely rectangular, unlike the ones in this image, but it's a minor detail. Honestly, some of them may be like mine, some may have rounded tabs....

EDIT: Sleeve re-cut has done the trick! One sleeve was attached and hemmed when I shot this, the other was done by 11 PM.  Just buttons, buttonholes and a few fiddly finishing bits on the inside and it's done! I hope it fits him after all this!
