The following is a verbatim quote posted earlier today on Tribe.net. "It makes me wonder, how do mundanes live in such a dull and joyless world that has no Pennsic to be seen!? HOW!?!?!?"  (This is after he has confessed that he is making everyone around him want to kill him with his obsessive Pennsic countdowning and wall bouncing.)

First of all, see previous rant on "mundanes" and the freaking thereof.

Second of all, it makes me wonder how someone who can only get excited about two weeks out of his entire year lives such a dull,  joyless and NARROW existence.

Of course, I'm biased by the logistical necessity of having missed Pennsic by a gap of seven years and still managing to live a very full, busy life, but I'm just saying.....

Hmmm... Let's see. Let's pick the two weeks with the most violent weather of the year, a site that alternately gets hit by tornadoes or floods, and have an event there for over 10,000 people. Oh, and throw in early allegies for the hayfever crowd.

Pennsic. Meh. You couldn't pay me enough to go.

Anyone who thinks Pennsic is the height of existence really needs to get out more...

I think the last sentence Kass wrote hits the spike squarely on the noggin.

How many SCAdians have we met whose whole existence revolves around their SCA life? Far, far too many.

That's not to say that people shouldn't enjoy themselves at SCA events. It's to say that being proud of everyone in your office knowing whom to forward calls asking for "Mistress Whiftyfarkle" is really, really sad.

My every day life certainly doesn't qualify s 'mundane', - I feel a reasonable amount of pity for those who feel the way the tribe poster does.
