What's with this weather?

Never saw the sun today. You'd think it was March, or something. I'd wanted to try biking round trip down to Alameda Point and back, but given the blustery conditions and the fact that my internal thermostat now works only at the whims of my endocrine system, I decided against it in favor of the Romance of Grocery Shopping and The Continuing Adventures of Laundry.
As Mimi is sitting things out under her Lost-In-Space silver raincover, I feel the need to inflict some wacky 60's Space Age cheese:
For my younger readers, Telstar refers to the first satellites to relay TV signals. The song came out right around the same time. The 60's was the Space Age with a vengeance. The US raced back and forth with the Russians to go higher, farther, faster, launch satellites, probes and rockets carrying dogs, monkeys and eventually men. We had "Lost In Space," "The Jetsons," and "Star Trek." It was in our architecture, our furniture, our clothes, and that funky little fin on Mimi's front fender.
Google "60's space age design" and feast your eyes.
