So I thought about it and signed up for email announcements from the San Francisco iteration of tweed riding. Despite the fact it doesn't appear they've done anything in months. And I looked around at their silly silent film signage (which would do well to be punctuated correctly) and some of their photos and thought, "Crikey." And "Bloody f****ng hell."
My bike's vintage and groovy style isn't hacking jackets and sensible shoes, mate. It's closer to Carnaby Street, baby.
So even though all's quiet on the tweed ride front right now and awesome vintage clothes never seem to be in my size, I've been amusing myself by looking around at what's out there.
I about cried when I stumbled upon this, currently up on eBay.
The kicker, the label is G. Fox & Co. My grandmother worked at G. Fox & Co. during this period!!!! (When it would've been too big for me, of course....)

And this one is one size too small and spendy, but gorgeous.
And this is freaking awesome, and of course, too small,

But this short jacket (which will not let me copy the image) is not only big enough, I might actually have to take it in a little:

I admit I am tempted. It could be worn with a skirt or trousers.
Look at these babies!
They're a 9 medium, which means they might actually fit me.
Must think.... Hmm, must have a shower and brekkies of some description...... Quit screwing around on the internet.....

Date: 2010-09-10 06:15 pm (UTC)But the link for the tweed coat isn't working for me.
P.S. I can tell you how to get to those photos, just not here... too long and complicated. Hint: it involves finding the URL of the photo in the page source...
