Well, that was exciting!

gurdymonkeyGot the rest of JAF's kosode bits cut out while sitting on the floor watching the first half of "Boardwalk Empire." Just as I folded the last pieces of the last set, the power went out, with 35 minutes of the episode to go and me thinking, "Don't step on the scissors!"
I keep a flashlight on top of the CD rack by the front door for times like these. Remembered I actually had a bag of tea lights that weren't down in a camp box in the truck, put 'em in the barrel stave votive rack on top of the TV set and lit them. Attempting to read this month's Smithsonian by flashlight was a bit rocky, even with reading glasses. And the smoke alarm insisted on chirping intermittently "Hey! The power's out! Did you know the power's out?" every few minutes. The good news is that the power came back on after about half an hour and it's not actively raining or windy around here, so hopefully, that'll be it for the night.
Hmm. Now I'm hungry for the first time since Friday. And I should probably re-set my alarm clock before I forget....
