So yes, as I'm on court, I've committed to day tripping Crown. I have yet to hear a peep from the head of court as to when I'm supposed to be on duty. I suspect she's thrown up her hands and is in wait-and-see mode, watching the weather and wondering who's gonna bail on the event at the last minute.

My Cunning Plan required me to run into Berkeley after work this afternoon. Lhasa Karnak had sencha and lapsang souchong at $2.50/ounce, so I bought some of each and one of those wire tea balls, then went over to the Tokyo Fish Market for some pretty tea tins, plus the Japanese pickle recipe book I wanted and a chirashi bowl for tomorrow's lunch. I may have to go back again for more tea for ME - it all smelled so lovely, even through the plastic bags. (But my Queen will have tea. Whether she wants to drink it at her Tea is up to her.)

I'm going to pick up baked goods, coffee and [livejournal.com profile] layla_lilah (in that order) tomorrow morning and try to get on the road up to the event early enough that we don't have to deal with too many fools driving in the rain. I reserve the right to initiate a bug-out if conditions warrant. For those not from around here, the site is the Yolo County Fairgrounds. Woodland is flat, and a huge wetlands known as the Yolo Basin is only a few miles south. They grow rice around here. You get the picture. I am SO wearing geta.

The winds were so high today that the doors at work kept blowing in and out to the extreme end of where their hinges would allow. I'm quite surprised that they didn't break. We ended up having to lock the doors in order to keep them closed. That, and the one that couldn't be locked got a bungie cord tied down short.

My roof tarp is in shreds again. I give up now. I'm done.
