It seems despite having a Catholic best friend from high school and a Catholic step-mother, certain aspects of the faith still elude me. Probably a good thing, considering. Thank you for clearing up my confusion. There is just some information that can't be gleaned by osmosis.

Twelve years of pleated plaid and knee socks and certain aspects still elude ME. Especially given that my father does Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanna and burns kadish candles for his parents in the spring.

When Rich and I got together, he was a pagan. He returned to the Catholic Church a couple of years ago, so the priest at his memorial service was not simply the choice of his family.

Spiritual fulfillment is where one finds it - and there is comfort in the familiar.
