Date: 2008-10-02 02:50 pm (UTC)Point taken--but as it happens, the first case I named (Ex Parte Endo) was one that I actually remembered from my high school Government class (without coffee, because I don't drink the stuff :-D). (I did, however, have a "D'Oh!" moment when reminded of Bush v. Gore--how could I have forgotten that?) Whatever the original motive of this meme may have been, I've been enjoying the snippets of legal history in the responses :-)
Oh, and I'm feelin yer pain wrt the Steeleye Span thing--although I don't hear as much of them as I did in the early-mid 80s. An unexpected frustration for me is that I wish I could find *something* period that could occupy the same niche as their "Calling-On Song": it would be a nice opener for a demo set....
