Taking stock
May. 24th, 2007 09:04 pmI see by the by the calendar that it has been a year and two weeks since I decided to set down my fork and step away from the table.
I took off thirty pounds last summer. I've kept all of it off, although efforts to move off that plateau and shave off a bit more ballast have not yet been successful.
I have continued to walk two miles a day five days a week whether I feel like it or not. I mostly feel like it.
I eat what I like, I just don't eat stupidly any more.
If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, the donor card I signed might actually furnish someone in desperate need with a viable heart instead of a useless hunk of meat. Or kidneys, or whatever.
If I last longer than that, I have a decent shot at not following the family tradition of getting diabetes. Or stroke. Or heart problems.
I will not be driving all the way to Quincy this weekend, I am saving the gas money for my Pennsic fund. Instead, I will say goodbye to The Fat Clothes and clean out my closet.

Date: 2007-05-25 02:11 pm (UTC)We've been walking morning and night most days, probably averaging five days a week. Some days we walk a long path, some days shorter, some days we hustle, some days we just stroll. But we've noticed more energy although not any weight loss yet. Thanks for the encouragement in this!
Go you!
