Welcome to the Society For Crappy Photography.  You did get some beautiful shots of a bunch of people aiming cameras right back at you though.
***********************************************

Stupid people at work #1: They've been doing road construction outside the plant since last Thursday and you're pissed that you didn't get 24 hours' notice that the driveway at the west end of the property would be temporarily blocked today for about two hours? The rest of us have been brown bagging, waiting for the taco truck on the corner of Teagarden and Montague, or walking up to the Quizno's up in Marina Square they started ripping up the old asphalt last week. Or, here's a thought,  using the east end driveway.

Stupid people at work #2: Yes, the Bay Bridge is open. It's been open since Monday afternoon. What rock have you been under?
***********************************************

Name paperwork is done, appropriate updates have been downloaded and printer jiggered into submission. Need to whack together a couple sketches after work tomorrow and see which I like enough to submit as a badge.
***********************************************

Laundry is done, and I found yet another left-elbow-holed shirt. Why is it only ever the left elbow?
***********************************************

One just got out of ICU. Another is entering a hospice. Incense remains lit.

I got a letter in the mail from Kaiser asking me if I'd be interested in participating in a research study to determine the effect of a specific medication on management of hot flashes and other menopause symptoms. Given that nothing's paused yet, I'm going to have to take a pass on that along with my Advil and bag of salt and vinegar chips today.

They had kind of a "circular firing squad" thing going on there, didn't they?

If it was Mari's Knighting that you failed to get photos of then there is some good video at http://www.youtube.com/user/Aeschine#p/u/6/kNMs6I4_4Ek
As to the elbows... I read your post whilst operating my mouse right-handed and leaning my left elbow on the edge of my computer desk and cupping my chin in my hand - of course I only wear short sleeves when out of SCA clothes so I don't know what effect this posture has on clothes.

I didn't want photos.

I would simply prefer my Current Middle Ages to include the courtesy of people who are in the front row of court being more aware that there are people behind them who might like to view the proceedings without having to stare at their hats, parasols and waving arms.

Regarding Kaiser, don't worry. *That* will happen soon enough. Also, not everyone has strong symptoms. My flashes were there, but not debilitating, and what mood swings I had, ditto. The "skips" made life interesting once I met my future hubby, though. The "peri-" symptoms leading up to the "magic day" (one year after the Very Last One) lasted for 3 years. At least you'll have lovely fans at the ready!

I was only 47, darn it. I had liked my strong bones. A timely warning: Start taking calcium supplements *now*. I assumed that because I like dairy and drank skim milk regularly that I was OK. Now I have to take Boniva once a month.

Symptoms like hot flashes often start well before the "pause." I'm told they fade away afterwards. I wouldn't know.... ;)

(Every time my gynecologist sees me, she says, "What, not YET?")

Yes, they fade away within a few months.

I think it was this past Pennsic, someone popular was getting an award in a big court with a bunch of dignitaries on stage (probably our kingdom court). Someone near the front was having trouble getting photos. My baroness, ever practical, left her seat on the stage, took her subject's camera, returned to her throne (or whatever the baronial equivalent is called) and snapped a few pictures before giving the camera back.

I found it amusing.

But I wouldn't have a problem with banning cameras from certain events or procedures. Also, we have some very good semi-pro photographers in my region, we could designate one the official photographer and ask everyone else to refrain (in exchange for access to the "official" photos). Also court would be nicer without cell phones, plastic pens, and electric lights...but that's another rant.
