Why I hate most perfume

Amida Butsu on a snowboard, Beyonce Heat reeks like bad tutti frutti something. I know this because the lady who delivers for our courier service came in this morning with a handful of Givenchy sample packets and a bottle of the Stinking Koolaid Crap she no doubt dropped a bundle on. I accepted a squirt. Within minutes I smelled like I'd fallen in a vat of candy or something. Nasty candy. The kind you'd be ashamed to hand out at Halloween. I immediately went to the kitchen station and scrubbed my arms to the elbows. Three hours later, it's finally starting to fade. I hope it's gone completely by 4PM because I do NOT have time for full decontamination procedures before going to the movies tonight.

I'm actually allergic to most commercial perfumes (something in the carrier element), but essential oils tend to work pretty well. They are certainly less obtrusive!

I splurged a bit this morning and put on a few drops of Arpege. I have a bit less than half left of the smallest bottle they made, purchased many years ago in Hong Kong. I was distressed to discover that the original formula of Arpege is no longer made. I'm going to have to ration it out even more carefully than before.

I know what you mean. I once made the mistake of buying a
scented deodorant. that was one of the worst days I ever had. I could smell it all day. I even went into the ladies room and scrubbed my arm pits. Did not work.

I hate only a few select scents. Chanel must die, nasty stuff.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue on the other hand? Citrusy awesomeness.

Which Chanel? Some of their scents are not great, but Coco Mademoiselle is lovely (that and Bulgari White Tea is pretty much all I wear).

I was working in Macy's in the fragrance department when someone broke the sample bottle of Chanel No. 5.

Mademoiselle is nice, and Chance is ok too I guess. I had completely forgotten about those two scents.
